Marisa Skelpsa-Muñoz
Marisa Skelpsa-Muñoz(she/they) is a queer, mixed-race Chicana, joyful weirdo, pleasure activist, painter, and introverted mermaid. Marisa paints as she loves: fiercely and tenderly. Born and raised in this desert, she is moved by the intrinsic connection between the joys and pains of our bodies and this land. She expresses that movement using evocative imagery and a color palette that cackles in the face of shame and repression. Outside of painting, Marisa has dedicated energy in the fields of reproductive justice, sexual health, LGBTQ+ education, and DEI.

Kevin Bushaw
Nobody would ever call Kevin Bushaw a minimalist.
As a photographer and creative director, Kevin thrives on boldness—vivid colors, rich textures, and layered compositions collide in his work to create visually striking, evocative imagery.
Growing up in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, Kevin is part of the generation that experienced an analog childhood and a digital young adulthood. As a kid, he could often be found wandering the forest, ADHD brain fully activated, imagining magical narratives inspired by a kaleidoscope of influences—mythology, music, literature, video games, television, and film.
In 2001, Kevin moved to Arizona to study visual arts, came out of the closet, and discovered how fabulous gay life could be. Soon, he was offered the amazing opportunity to develop queer fashion and lifestyle content for ION Arizona magazine alongside a vibrant team of writers, photographers, stylists, and performers.
In 2019, Kevin joined Arizona State University, where he returned to his studies to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Photography.
Now based in Tempe, Kevin continues to create colorful, bombastic visual pieces that reflect his experiences, dreams, and deep connection to his community. His influences include boundary-defying artists such as David LaChapelle, Andy Goldsworthy, Arno Minkkinen, and Yuni Yoshida.
Kevin shares his life and artistic journey with his partner, Adán, whose rich cultural roots and shared creative spirit infuse Kevin’s work with an added layer of depth and authenticity. Together, they celebrate the beauty of love and the power of art to connect, inspire, and subvert the dominant paradigm. RESIST!
